This is just my personal preference and experience though, so I hope that nobody takes it as me just ragging on Epiphone in general because they do make some nice guitars but their acoustic range is not something that I would shell out money for. The Epiphone Inspired by Gibson J-200 is a stunning homage to the King of the Flat-Tops - the world-famous Gibson SJ-200. If you want an acoustic-electric, I would recommend looking around more in something other than Epiphone. They start to crackle after what seems like too short of a time, the tuner is not that great, and there isn't much of a change in sound or tone when you start to fiddle with the knobs. Other features include a solid spruce top, Grover® Mini-Rotomatic® tuners, and new this year, the Fishman® Sonicore pickup and Presys II preamp system. The real downfall of all Epiphones though is their electronics. The J-200 EC Studio Parlor reimagines the historic J-200 Jumbo as a smaller ‘parlor’-sized acoustic/electric made easy for traveling. It really isn't too much of an issue but it does make the guitar play nicer. They are kind of sharp and you might want to look into getting them touched up. The Epiphone plays quickly because of the neck profile and the finish on the back of the neck but the frets are not very nicely dressed. A hard case is available through Authorized Epiphone Dealers. I have also experienced fret buzzing in this guitar which really disappoints me a lot maybe its because of this guitar have an low action or have a bad neck angle seems like i have to spend some more money on neck setup.īut still i will give it 4 stars as I love the looks of the guitar.Īnd I would also like to mention that Thomann have one if the best customer services.The Epiphone is an alright guitar for the money but you really can do better for $400. Volume of the guitar unplugged is not as much as the size of large jumbo body guitar but its not a big deal cause most of the time i play it plugged in. I simply fell in love with this guitar after strumming my first chords on it, the construction, finish, playability and sound are on a par with a guitar costing significantly more, what a great axe I cant say it enough, it really.
